Qualified Teachers Ethics -

Examinations -
Our examining body is the International Dance Teachers Association (I.D.T.A.) One of the largest members of the International Dance Council. Pupils will follow graded exams in Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz and Musical Theatre syllabi’s from Preparatory to Majors. Full knowledge of the Syllabus and ability to execute to a good standard is required to pass from one grade to the next. Exam sessions are held at the studio throughout the year and ability to enter and pass is assessed by Miss Legge.
CHILDREN WILL NOT BE ENTERED FOR EXAMINATIONS IF FEES ARE NOT FULLY PAID UP.
Health and Special Needs -
It is the Parent or Guardians responsibility to inform us of any relevant health or injury problems concerning their child. Such information will be held in strict confidence.
Personal Contact Details -
On enrolment a registration form must be completed. We must be informed of change of address and phone numbers immediately to ensure that we can contact parent / guardian in case of an emergency. Alternative contact number and / or mobile numbers can be given.
Uniform -
All uniform is available to buy at the studio.. Please make sure you purchase the correct style and colour for your child’s class, this will vary with age and subject. The wrong uniform or shoes may not be worn in an exam and marks can be deducted for ill fitting dance wear. The correct uniform should be worn for class to enable the teacher to correct posture and muscle tone. It is very important that dance shoes are not bought with “growing room”. Shoes that are too big cause many technique problems and poor exam results. Help and advice will be given at the studio, please ask.
Shows -
School productions are presented annually, dates are issued well in advance. Routines are rehearsed during normal class times and exams are not taken during show rehearsal periods.
Criminal Records Bureau -
All staff have the relevant police checks to comply with the Child Protection Act.
