Rachel Dempsey – Teacher / Choreographer

Rachel’s training started at an early age with Miss Legge continuing at the Sylvia Dempsey School of Dance and then a three year vocational course at Phil Winston’s Theatre Works in Blackpool where she studied all dance, drama and vocal subjects. On completing her course she successfully auditioned and was given a part in the original cast of Spamalot staring Tim Curry in London’s West End. It was during this time that the cast had the honour of appearing at the Royal Variety performance for the Queen.

She went on to appear in West Side Story and some of Britain’s number 1 pantomime seasons. Her natural flare for choreography has taken her down this avenue and for the past two seasons she has choreographed production shows for Pontin’s Holiday Centres U.K.

Through out Rachel’s busy career she has taught at the Sylvia Dempsey School choreographing numerous school productions and we are now pleased that after moving to this area she can also share her varied professional experience with our children whilst continuing with her love of choreography.
