Ballet is a highly technical form of dance with its own vocabulary based on French terminology, it originated in the Italian Renaissance Courts of the 15th century and later developed in France and Russia. It is the foundation of all other dance genres as it builds strength, flexibility and musicality.

Whichever style a professional dancer follows; ballet will always be a major part of their training.
